BlogExplosion issues

Administrivia, Personal, Technology

For a while, this blog was listed on BlogExplosion. Then I changed WordPress themes and requested a new thumbnail be taken.

That’s when the trouble began. First I was notified that not only would a thumbnail not be taken, but that my blog had been “denied” because of some issue with javascript on the homepage. And they removed my blog from my setup area.

Well, ok. I changed themes to the one you see today. Last week, I finally got around to resubmitting it. And this morning I get another rejection from them. This time, the rejection says that they’re no longer taking blogs that “primarily contain advertising, or promote business opportunities.”

Sounds like a good policy, but it doesn’t fit the blog. You have the opportunity to remove all advertising from view by clicking on the “Without Ads” link on the sidebar under “Reload this blog”. And, well, you’re sure not looking at a blog that is about promoting a business opportunity.

This is kind of, no, it’s really stupid. I’ve liked BlogExplosion for a long time, even if I haven’t been the most avid user (due mainly to time contraints). But, this idiocy is really causing me to rethink things.
