New CPAP on the way
Friends of mine know that I have sleep apnea and have required the use of a CPAP for several years now. Even though I couldn’t tell much difference right off the bat, I can’t sleep without it now.
That’s unfortunate, because about three weeks ago my CPAP broke. I was using a Resmed S6 Lightweight CPAP. I hit the start button and nothing happened. I finally pummelled it into starting at about 4:00 a.m.

I’ve rented an auto-titrating cpap from a home health company. But, today we spent the money to get one of my own. I’ll be getting an AutoSet Spirit Auto CPAP, and Humidaire 2i Heated Humidifer with bag, hose and manuals.

It should arrive tomorrow along with new headgear. I was using the Breeze headgear with Nasal Pillows. And I really loved this headgear as I didn’t feel like a fighter pilot when I was going to sleep! (And I’m sure that my wife appreciated not hearing me yell out “I have tone! Fox Two! Fox Two!” in my sleep.)

But, the new machine that I’m using says that using something with such a narrow hose could defeat the purpose of getting the more expensive auto-titrating machine. So, I’m getting the Resmed Mirage Swift headgear. It also uses the nasal pillows that I loved about the Breeze headgear. I’m excited about this one, because now the hose will go off to the side of my head. This will let me to keep my glasses on for those nights when I go to sleep while watching television.

And best of all….it’s getting shipped from Houston, so it’s free UPS ground shipping and should still get here tomorrow or Thursday!
