Stand Up for Principle

National Politics Comments (0)

I got an email today from John Kerry urging me to Stand Up for Principle. Presumably this would be by following Gen. Sen. Charles Schumer in “Going to war” against President Bush’s nomination of Judge John Roberts to the US Supreme Court. As part of that effort, Fightin’ John asked me to share my thoughts. I thought I’d share them with you, too.

I think that the confirmation of Justices of the Supreme Court should be above partisan bickering. It is important that President Bush’s nominee not be asked such asinine things as how they would vote if a given issue were brought before the highest court in our land. These are people who are tasked with upholding the laws of our land and if Democrats don’t like how those law are structured or interpreted then they should endeavor to change the laws and/or amend the Constitution.

Let me encourage you, too, to go to http://www.johnkerry.com/action/share/ and encourage Senate Democrats to end the obstruction.
