What the Canadian Elections Mean

National Politics Comments (0)

Tonight I fully expect the new Canadian Conservative Party to make huge gains in the national elections our neighbors to the north are having. The race will be tight, but they’ll make enough gains that it is expected that the Liberals will have to form a minority government.

Now, if the Liberals were the ones making huge gains, I might imagine hearing the pundits tomorrow asking what impact (read: “help”) this might have on the Kerry campaign.

But no. If it’s close, or if the Conservatives pull it out and can form a majority government, we’ll not hear a word about what that might have on Kerry’s chances to pull it out in November.

And in our elections…..the Canadian elections mean not a thing.
