GMail for Soldiers

Personal, Technology Comments (0)

I’ve previously outlined a few problems that GMail may or may not have.

I have been a beta user for a month or so now. There are good points (storage) and bad (no folders and accounts by invitation only) to GMail.

For some people, the biggest good point about GMail (the storage) is worth more than all of the bad ones you can think of.

A friend of mine sent a link to Wil Wheaton’s blog to a mailing list that I’m on. There’s a good idea there, even if Wil is far too liberal for my personal tastes. I think providing GMail accounts to members of the military who could use the large amounts of storage space is a wonderful idea!

If you agree with me (and you should, because you know I’m right), well, there’s a website now set up at http://www.gmail4troops.com/.

If you’re a GMail user and have invites, to spare, give them a visit. And make sure you spread the word.
