At the Convention

Well, I’m here.
We started off the day on the right foot. I didn’t get a whole lot of sleep last night because I misplaced my keys yesterday when I changed the oil in my minivan. Well, actually, it was when I added the fuel injector cleaner to the gas tank. I have a locking gas cap, and apparently, I set my keys on top of the van instead of in my pocket (which is what I ALWAYS do). But, I located them this morning when I was loading the van for the trip here.
And then, when I left, I forgot to go to the ATM and get some cash. I do have credit cards, but a lot of the cheap places to eat want cash, not plastic. But, I’m going to make it.
The last couple of blocks where bad. They were very, very slow driving blocks. There was no parking. At all. To be found anywhere. Which is to be expected with 17,000 rock-solid Republicans in attendance.
But I did get here. I did get my room. I did get registered. I listened to lots and lots and lots of speeches. And did lots of standing up and clapping (with the requisite sitting down between).
And I tell you, it’s times like this when it feels really, really good to be a Republican. It’s times like these Conventions that I’m proud of my party. I can’t wait to do my part to get President Bush re-elected.
I maintain the local county party‘s website. And I brought my digitial camera. So, we have a slideshow up for all to see.
